Abstract
Anomalous diffusion of a gold nanocrystal Au-140, adsorbed on the basal pla ne of graphite, exhibiting Levy-type power-law flight-length and sticking-t ime distributions, is predicted through extensive molecular dynamics simula tions. An atomistic collective slip-diffusion mechanism is proposed and ana lyzed.
