Abstract
In this paper we study the effects of particle radial transport on the elec tron cyclotron absorption coefficient. We consider a tokamak plasma under t he combined action of lower hybrid waves, electron cyclotron waves, collisi ons and spatial transport of electrons across magnetic surfaces. Our result s, found from the numerical solution of the diffusion equation, indicate a significant modification in the profile of the electron cyclotron absorptio n coefficient around the resonant surface when transport is taken into acco unt relative to the situation when transport is absent.
