Necrolytic migratory erythema (NME) is an uncommon condition classical
ly associated with high plasma levels of circulating glucagon and a gl
ucagonoma. We report a patient with cirrhosis who showed clinical and
histological features of NME, Investigation revealed normal glucagon l
evels without evidence of plucagonoma. Serum zinc levels were below th
e normal range and zinc supplementation resulted in rapid and complete
resolution of the eruption.
