Abstract
The flow parallel to an array of rectangular cylinders is solved by an efficient domain decomposition and matching method. The permeability constant is determined for a variety of geometries, including strips o f zero thickness. Formulae for the drag of a single rectangular cylind er and a single strip are derived.
