Abstract
Densities of solutions containing formamide, acetamide and urea in non-aque ous polar solvents of N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) and dimethylsulfoxide (DM SO), and solutions containing DMF and DMSO in formamide solvents were measu red at 298.15 K. The apparent molar volume of solutes (V-2(phi)) and the vo lumetric second virial coefficients(v(22)) were evaluated. The cavity volum es of solute in solvents and the interaction volumes were calculated by usi ng scaled particle theory. A negative effect of solute-solvent interaction on v(22) was observed.
