Abstract
A multi-element oxide glass doped with Nd3+ was prepared to pursue ene rgy upconversion phenomena. Judd-Ofelt intensity parameters, Omega(2), Omega(4), and Omega(6), are estimated to be 2.54+/-0.18 x 10(-20), 0. 97+/-0.26 x 10(-20) and 1.88+/-0.12 x 10(-20) cm(2), respectively. Whe n the sample was pumped with 590 nm laser we detected upconversion sig nals at 362, 389, 417 and 453 nm due to two-photon excitation process.
