Abstract
We present a direct construction of the abstract generators for q-deformed W-N algebras. New quantum algebraic structures of W-q,W-p type are thus obt ained. This procedure hinges upon a twisted trace formula for the elliptic algebra A(q,p)(<(sl)over cap>(N)(c)) generalizing the previously known form ulae for quantum groups. It represents the q-deformation of the constructio n of W-N algebras from Lie algebras.
