Abstract
The diagnosis of feline idiopathic lower urinary tract disease (iLUTD) depe nds on excluding other causes of hematuria, dysuria, and pollakiuria. Becau se no single test or procedure is pathognomonic for iLUTD, a combination of tests is recommended to establish diagnosis. Comprehensive diagnostic eval uation of the lower urinary tract may encompass a complete history and phys ical examination, hemogram and serum chemistry profile, complete urinalysis , quantitative urine culture for aerobic bacteria, survey abdominal radiogr aphy, contrast urethrocystography, ultrasonography, urethrocystoscopy, and surgical biopsy.
