Abstract
The aim of this paper is to explore an alternative method for modelling spa tiotemporal systems. The approach is based on coupling a local model which takes into account the local aspects (biological layers) and a discrete spa tiotemporal one which brings out the spatial aspects (geographical layers) The coupled process is referred to a prediction correction scheme. An appli cation devoted to an ecological system illustrates the efficiency of the pr oposed scheme. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
