Abstract
In lizards, information from the various senses is relayed to the hypothala mus via the cortico-septo-hypothalamic pathway. It appears that the anatomi cal organization of the incoming fibres in the medial cortex differs consid erably between the various lizard species. In the present account it is sho wn that it is the location of the termination of the incoming fibres in the medial cortex that determines what kind of sensory information will reach the hypothalamic centres that are responsible for sexual and feeding behavi our.
