Abstract
This work describes the periodic poling of LiNbO3:1%MgO single-crystal fibres with an electric field applied during the laser-heated-pedesta l growth process. The alternating electric field is induced by two ele ctrodes located close to the Curie isotherm and parallel to the growth axis. In these first trials the obtained ferroelectric domains can be clearly visualized but do not lead to a single quasi-phase-matching c ondition for second-harmonic generation around 1060 nm.
