Abstract
We consider a degenerate and transversally extended optical parametric osci llator, and predict the presence of a "spatial EPR paradox" that arises fro m the entanglement of the photon pairs emitted in the parametric down-conve rsion process. The effect emerges for reasonable values of the frequency sp acing among adjacent transverse modes and of the waist of the pump beam.
