Calibration results of the ocean color and temperature scanner (OCTS) on bo
ard the Advanced Earth Observing Satellite (ADEOS) are presented, We have e
valuated the OCTS responses to internal calibration sources (i.e., lamps, e
lectric voltages, and sunlight), natural targets (i.e., night data and unif
orm targets in the daytime), external calibration source (i.e., underflight
of a calibrated airborne sensor), and a theoretical calibration source mod
eled for the atmospheric radiation. We then compared the acceptability of t
hese calibration sources.
