Abstract
We report measurements of 10 of the 4d(9)5p levels in Ag II using lase r excitation of a fast beam, and we compare these results with those o btained from a calculation using Cowan's relativistic Hartree-Fock met hod. The mean ratio of the experimental and theoretical lifetimes is 1 .057 +/- 0.050. Our results are also compared with previous (non-laser ) experiments and calculations. Here the agreement with our results is only fair.
