Abstract
The reaction of Na[MeGa(pz)(3)] with GaCl3 leads to the formation of t he novel cubane Ga-8(pz)(12)O4Cl4 . 2thf 1, and not the expected produ ct [(MeGa(pz)(3)}(2)Ga][GaCl4]; the ease with which 1 forms is illustr ated by its formation in a subsequent reaction of Na[MeGa(pz)(3)] with GaCl3.
