Ic. Balfour et al., Cyclosphosphamide prednisone for combination immunosuppression and therapyof lymphoproliferative disease, J HEART LUN, 18(5), 1999, pp. 492-495
Post-transplant lymphoproliferative disease (PTLD) is a well-known complica
tion of solid organ transplantation. While this disorder can often be contr
olled by decreasing immunosuppression, it is frequently difficult to contro
l the resultant rejection. This case exemplifies this dilemma. To solve thi
s problem, cyclosphosphamide (600 mg/m(2)) and prednisone (2 mg/kg times 5
days) were given every 3 weeks to simultaneously treat PTLD and provide imm
unosuppression.
