Ke. Kover et G. Batta, A general scheme for suppression of ABX strong coupling signals in heteronuclear scalar and dipolar correlation experiments, J MAGN RES, 138(1), 1999, pp. 89-97
Enhanced versions of heteronuclear chemical shift correlation experiments w
hich yield high-quality spectra with efficient suppression of extra peaks a
rising from strong coupling effects are proposed. The enhanced pulse sequen
ces feature properly designed filtering schemes inserted during preparation
, or prior to acquisition, or at both places depending on the particular ex
periment, These modifications extend the applicability of existing methods,
since they exclude misinterpretation of spurious peaks and allow unambiguo
us assignment of the desired correlations, The general applicability of the
filtering method is noteworthy; both scalar- and dipolar-correlated experi
ments with both X and H-1 detection using phase cycling or gradient pulses
for coherence selection can be freed of strong coupling artifacts. (C) 1999
