Abstract
In this paper we study a simplified model of the behavior of a 3-D solid ma de from two elastic homogeneous materials separated by a rapidly oscillatin g interface. We study the asymptotic behavior of the solution of such model using homogenization tools and a compactness result. We obtain the homogen ized equation, and by studying its coefficients, we find some properties of the limiting material. (C) 1999 Academic Press.
