Abstract
We derive the asymptotic expansion of a class of two-dimensional Fourier in tegrals that typically arise in perturbative treatments of the interaction of the quantized electromagnetic field with atoms and other quantum systems . The principal difficulty that prevents the application of standard method s is the fact that the integrand has a saddle point in the corner of the do main of integration.
