Abstract
We reported the investigating results of the phase transition and phase str ucture for LaSc3(BO3)(4) crystal. LaSc3(BO3)(4) crystal exist three phases: high temperature phase alpha-LaSc3(BO3)(4) with space group C2/c, medium t emperature phase beta-LaSc3(BO3)(4) with space group R32 and low temperatur e phase gamma-LaSc3(BO3)(4) with space group Cc. Title compound gamma-LaSc3 (BO3)(4) crystallizes in the monoclinic with space group Cc, and the unit c ell dimensions, a=7.740(3) Angstrom, b=9.864(2) Angstrom, c=12.066(5) Angst rom, beta=105.48(5)degrees C, V=887.8(6) Angstrom(3), Z=4, D-C=3.81 g/cm(3) , lambda(MoK alpha)=0.71067 Angstrom, F(000)=944, final R=0.040, R-W=0.054 for 1840 observed reflection with I greater than or equal to 3 sigma>(I).
