Abstract
Accurate EF (1)Sigma(g), (3)Sigma(u) and h(3)Sigma(g) state adiabatic poten tials are computed for internuclear distances up to atomic units. All the e nergies are more accurate by a fraction of a wave number from existing resu lts. Scattering lengths for collisions of 1S and 2S hydrogen atoms are eval uated. These differ significantly from earlier results. This is because for some states the scattering length is very sensitive to even small changes in the potential.
