Abstract
The reaction of the tri-(benzaldehyde)-substituted cyclotriveratrylene 6 wi th phosphotrihydrazide under high dilution conditions gives rise to the nov el thiophosphorylated hemicryptophane 1. 1 is representative of a new famil y of molecular receptors providing a molecular cavity available for neutral and charged guests. In the crystal, compound 1 encapsulates one toluene mo lecule.
