Abstract
Some opportunities of creation of radiation-resistant heterogeneous electro -magnetic-calorimeters with an energy resolution of about sigma/E similar o r equal to 4-5%/root E is given in this article. Investigation results of s cintillation and radiation characteristics for thin molded plates and new h eavy scintillators based on the polystyrene and containing metalloorganic a dditives are presented. The radiation resistance of thin molded scintillato r plates of about 1.1 mm thick containing 2% pTP + 0.05% POPOP has reached a level of about 15-20kGy. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V.
