Abstract
A case of primary sialoangiectasia, which in this case was initially misdia gnosed as Sjogren's syndrome, is described. Other diseases, including HIV i nfection, psoriatic arthritis, and acute parotitis, may cause glandular cha nges similar to the changes found in the syndrome. Therefore, sialography m ust be combined with other methods of assessment of the oral cavity when su spicion is high for Sjogren's syndrome. Properly applied, sialography provi des essential information regarding the severity of glandular damage and th e progression of the disease.
