Abstract
Reaction of beta-keto sulphones with 2N NaOH, at 70 degrees C, in aque ous media and in presence of cetyltrimethylammonium chloride (CTACl), produces the C-C bond fission between the carbonyl group and the carbo n bearing the sulphone. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
