M. Decastro et al., Comparison between the role of discontinuities in cardiac conduction and in a one-dimensional hardware model, PHYS REV E, 59(5), 1999, pp. 5962-5969
In real electrophysiological experiments, irregularities in the extracellul
ar excitation spread are believed to depend on cardiac tissue microstructur
e. An electronic hardware model was developed to analyze this dependence by
placing some inhomogeneities (slow propagation areas) in the medium. The p
osition of such inhomogeneities is correlated with abnormal delays and irre
gularities measured in signal propagation. [S1063-651X(99)10505-1].
