Abstract
The roots of Pluchea sericea (Compositae) afforded the known compounds boeh merol acetate and beta-sitosterol together with two new sesquiterpenes 14-h ydroxymodhephene and its acetate. Their structures were determined by H-1 a nd C-13 NMR spectroscopy including the use of a lanthanide shift reagent an d trichloroacetyl isocyanate. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights res erved.
