Results are presented from a comparative one-dimensional analysis of the in
fluence of some impurities (lithium, carbon, and neon) on the ITER plasma p
arameters. The analysis uses T-11 scaling for the energy confinement time a
nd local transport coefficients. The maximum permissible impurity concentra
tions and fluxes in the bulk reactor plasma are determined.
