Abstract
Ferrocenylethanol has been prepared and characterized by H-1 and C-13 NMR, cyclic voltammetry and X-ray crystallography. The electrochemical data were compared to ferrocene and related compounds. The lattice constants for fer rocenylethanol (C12H14FeO) are a=17.291(2) Angstrom and alpha=118.590(0)deg rees. The crystal exists in R (3) over bar and there are six formula units per rhombohedral unit cell. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reser ved.
