Abstract
Bulky arylalcoylsilane dendritic molecules, with, respectively 12 and 36 phenyl rings at the periphery, have been synthesized by means of a divergent synthetic method. The first generation has a crystalline str ucture as demonstrated by the X-ray structure analysis. The H-1 NMR ca racterization shows the retention of solvent with the second generatio n. They may be used as cocatalyst in polycondensation reactions. (C) 1 997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
