Abstract
Gas phase basicity (GB) and proton affinity (PA) determinations by the ther mokinetic method have been reevaluated in the light of the new basicity sca le, It is found that the thermokinetic method provides GB values with a pre cision better than +/-3 kJ/mol, The following GB values are obtained: isobu tene=776.3; acetone=782.1; ketene=790.1; methylketene=809.6; formaldimine=9 29.7; vinylimine=880.3; sulfine = 755.1 kJ/mol, Some discrepancies between the present results and the tabulated values are clarified.
