The Karabolka River contamination with long-lived radionuclides as a result of their transport from the eastern ural radioactive trace and an industrial waste reservoir
Lm. Peremyslova et al., The Karabolka River contamination with long-lived radionuclides as a result of their transport from the eastern ural radioactive trace and an industrial waste reservoir, RUSS J ECOL, 30(3), 1999, pp. 174-177
The level of radioactive contamination and the distribution of radionuclide
s in the soil were studied in the Karabolka River floodplain, which was con
taminated because of horizontal radionuclide migration from the Eastern Ura
l Radioactive Trace and wind transfer from the banks of an industrial waste
reservoir. The amount of Sr-90 transported by the Karabolka River into the
Sinara River was calculated for the entire period since the beginning of c
ontamination.
