Abstract
SERS experiments were performed on five-membered heterocyclic compounds, li ke isoxazole, oxazole and thiazole, adsorbed on silver colloidal particles, and the results were discussed by considering the different aromatic chara cter of the molecules. Isoxazole and oxazole can be regarded as physisorbed , whereas for thiazole appreciable charge-transfer effect results from the SERS spectra obtained in hydrosols activated by the presence of coadsorbed chloride anions.
