Abstract
The Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectra of the slightly deuterated an alogues of diammonium diaquatetrabromocuprate(II), (NH4)(2)[CuBr4(H2O)(2)] in the regions of O-D and N-D stretching vibrations were studied at various temperatures starting with room temperature (RT) and going down to the tem perature of liquid nitrogen (LNT) and even to that of liquid helium (LHT), Some of the peculiar changes in the spectral picture were interpreted as du e to temperature-induced structural changers in which water molecules and a mmonium ions take part.
