Abstract
One to three points with reduced skin resistance are found on each teat of the front quarter, and one point on the teats of the rear quarter. The acup uncture point Ma29-02 takes a constant position on the teat. Just below the points medium sized blood vessels perforate the lamina lateralis apparati suspensorii mammarii. Extraordinary thick walled veins run in the vicinity of the marked prick canal, which have numerous bundles of smooth muscles in the tunica intima. The accompanying venols exhibit less smooth muscles cel ls, but various valves. Single glomus organs are irregular and located at d ifferent distances from the prick canal. The histological picture also prov ides narrow strips of loose connective tissue consisting of thin collagenou s fibres, nerve fascicles, blood vessels, and lymphatic capillaries. The re sults are valid both for the acupuncture points Ma29-02 and the remaining p oints with reduced electrical skin resistance on the teat basis. Between th ese two sorts of points no differences are visible by histological means.
