In vivo oxidation of low-density lipoprotein is shown to be significantly r
elated to another risk factor for coronary atherosclerosis, abnormal electr
ocardiographic late potentials, in clinically healthy pilots. Because both
of these variables have been also associated with cardiac arrhythmogenic ac
tion, together they may improve the identification of patients at risk of v
entricular tachyarrhythmias.
