Abstract
A 185 Gbq (5 Ci)radioisotope neutron source, has been used in conjunction w ith a coaxial HP(Ge) detector for the bulk elemental analysis of concrete b y neutron capture. The prompt gamma-ray neutron activation technique permit s the measurement of the Ca/Si concentration ratio. The results were checke d by comparison with chemically determined values. A simple model, then per mits determination of the proportion of cement in the concrete. (C) 1999 El sevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
