Abstract
Flat, electrically conducting models of Mo and CoMo sulfides on SiO2 and Al 2O3 have been very successful in elucidating the sulfidation chemistry of t he oxidic catalyst precursors. In this paper, we show that the model approa ch enables industrially relevant preparation studies of alumina-supported C oMoS systems with catalytic turnover and selectivity similar to that of ind ustrial HDS catalysts.
