Abstract
A mathematical model describing the performance of a modified Australian co oling system is presented. The modified Australian cooling system is a nigh t cold storage system enhanced by radiative cooling. The working fluid in t he modified cooling system is cooled by passing the fluid through a radiati ve cooling panel which cools itself by long-wave thermal radiation to the c old sky temperature. An analytical, closed form solution is presented which predicts the temperature response of the modified system. The analytical s olutions are verified experimentally, where it is found that both theoretic al and experimental results are in a good agreement. (C) 1999 Elsevier Scie nce Ltd. All rights reserved.
