Abstract
Frequency-dependent lactose uptake via the H+/lactose symporter in an exter nally applied low-intensity alternating electric field was demonstrated, us ing tracer flux experiments. The uptake of radiolabeled lactose was signifi cantly inhibited with the electric field-strength of 30 V/cm and at frequen cies below 10 Hz. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
