Abstract
Whereas {Ru(terpy)(2)}(2+) salts are essentially non-luminescent in fluid s olution luminescent molecular wires with {Ru(bpy)(3)}(2+)-like activity res ult when these units are connected by 2,5-thiophenediyl spacers.
