Abstract
Highly nonlinear (up to similar to 2000%/W) parametric amplifiers in period ically-poled LiNbO3 waveguides are presented. High optical gain (up to 90 d B) in the whole transmission window of silica optical fibres has been obtai ned using fibre laser pump sources.
