Copolymers of 3-methoxy-4-methacryloyloxybenzal phenylimine and methyl meth
acrylate were synthesized with different feed ratios in ethyl methyl ketone
solution at 70 degrees +/- 1 degrees C using benzoyl peroxide as initiator
. The copolymers were characterized by IR and H-1-NMR spectroscopic techniq
ues. Copolymer compositions were determined by H-1-NMR analysis. The monome
r reactivity ratios were determined by the application of conventional line
arization methods such as Fineman-Ross and Helen-Tudos. Gel permeation chro
matography was used for determining the molecular weights ((M) over bar(n),
and (M) over bar(w)) and the polydispersity index, Thermogravimetric analy
sis of the polymers were performed in air. The intrinsic viscosities of pol
