Abstract
In this work we have studied the behaviour of nitrogen in a silty-clay soil after pig slurries and urea fertilization. The potentially organic nitroge n mineralization, the interlayer ammonium and the inorganic nitrogen pools were determined before and after cultivation (Zea Mays L.). Organic nitroge n mineralization tests showed not regular curves in the mineral nitrogen re lease. The concentration of interlayer ammonium is significantly influenced by treatments. A remarkable percentage of the nitrogen administered to the soil by pig slurries is fixed from clayey component quickly.
