Abstract
This study is concerned with the treatment strategies for industrial wastew
aters from a safety match making plant. In addition, practical consideratio
ns related to the application of such strategies to an existing safety matc
hes making facility are discussed. A chemical treatment procedure was devel
oped to transform potentially flammable wastewater, due to its red phosphor
us content, into a safe form.
