Abstract
In this paper we propose Management Petri Nets (MPN), an extension of classical Petri nets for modelling management systems. MPN have three kinds of places: status places, resource places and information places , and two kinds of transitions: AND transitions and XOR transitions. A hierarchical approach is utilized in the modelling of management syst ems with MPN. The integration of MPN models with the Information Techn ology support of management tasks through a common database is also pr oposed.
