This paper is a synthesis of the literature information regarding the
main hydrodynamic parameters characterizing the triphasic columns, ie.
gas-liquid-solid, with gaseous phase bubbling. The influence the soli
d and Liquid phase properties have upon the critical surface gas rate,
in the complete suspension of the solid phase, in the axial distribut
ion of the solid concentration and in the gaseous phase hydrodynamic b
ehaviour, is presented. The solid phase complete - and incomplete - su
spension area distribution is also studied from the sedimentation - di
spersion model point of view.
