We demonstrate a ten-channel 100-GHz spacing, waveguide grating router mult
ifrequency laser that has significantly reduced intracavity wave mixing. Th
e mixing products for the improved design are now too small to cause signif
icant laser fluctuations during simultaneous multichannel operation. This w
as accomplished by reducing the shared waveguide length to 150 mu m. We pro
vide evidence that a significant portion of the remaining wave mixing occur
s in the intracavity waveguide grating arms.
