Abstract
Two methods of mode pushing are compared. The newer method, Automatic pushi ng, uses energy minimization to relocate a wall, as one entity. The older m ethod, Adaptive mode pushing, uses the reversal of the direction of motion of the wall to determine when to end the mode pushing. It is seen that auto matic pushing is comparable and often speeds up the calculation significant ly more than adaptive mode pushing.
