Abstract
It is important in optimal design problems to be able to predict the molten metal shape which is produced by electromagnetic forces[1], We have develo ped a 3-D finite element method which can be used to predict the shape of m olten metal in cold crucible systems. We clarified the effects of the frequ ency of the power source on the molten metal shapes in a rectangular cold c rucible system.
